Investigative news package, Day Care Danger, published spring 2024 by the CUNY NYCity News Service. My section centers on a family whose infant son died in a Washington Heights day care in 2020. Their tragic case illustrates the problems that persist in the regulation of NYC day cares despite a robust system of inspections. This piece won a third place Eppy award in the Best College/University Investigative/Documentary category.
News package South Bronx Businesses Battle Back, published spring 2023 by the CUNY NYCity News Service, which won the Society of Professional Journalists’ Mark of Excellence competition in the Retail/Small Business category.

My piece is the first published story in the city (as far as I have found) to cite specific numbers/dollar amounts for the lump sum payment paid to a retired District Manager. The payment left Bronx CB1 with no budget to hire leadership for well over a year and a half.
